Nopigia to Ravdoucha trail

An interesting, and relatively easy, trail along the east coast of the gulf of Kissamos, from the seaside settlement at #Nopigia to the village of #Ravdoucha, through the most significant mining site of Crete near Ravdoucha.

The trail at a glance:

Distance: 3,5 - 5 km
Technical difficulty: moderate
Maximum altitudinal difference: 150 m. (starting point 0 to ending point 150 m.)
Needed time:   1,5 - 2 h.
Available water: None (possible spring near the seaside chapel of Agios Vasileios)
Starting point: near the camping at Ravdoucha, either drive to the seaside chapel of Panagia Myrtidiotissa and start walking from that site.
Ending point: on the paved road going downhill from the village Ravdoucha to the homonym beach near the chapel of Agia Marina with the impressive frescoes of the 15th century, or Ravdoucha; that village is less than 5 minutes away from the previous spot. Otherwise go downhill to the still-standing double stone-built piers of the former loading bridge of the mining site (a unique monument of industrial archaeology in Crete).
